NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS – Wealth building, making connections, and shaping the future was the core message of Invest Fest Bahamas.

Regional and international business professionals gathered at Baha Mar earlier this month for the event headlined by the CEO of Red Lobster, Damola Adamolekun.

Following his address our Denielle Miller spoke with the young CEO to uncover the secrets behind his success.

“Eager minds filled the ballroom at Baha Mar for Invest Fest Bahamas. Hundreds came to be educated and uplifted by those in various industries including an international CEO.” – Denielle Miller

“Invest Fest I would admit was not my idea it evolved out of someone who I empowered and someone who had a vision for our company, she was my personal assistant.” – BISX CEO Keith Davies

That was CEO of Bahamas International Securities Exchange Keith Davies, the organization responsible for hosting the event.

Following the conclusion of the festival held earlier this month, Davies praised his personal assistant, Elude Sturrup, for her forward thinking to curate a non-traditional conference that showcased a wide range of business professionals, including a special guest with an international flair.

The line-up of speakers included Prime Minister Philip Davis K.C, President & CEO of Proven Wealth Limited, Luwanna Williams, CEO of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, Livingstone Morrison, and CEO of Red Lobster, Damola Adamolekun.

“You know I tend not to consider things very personally in the business world so even if I said adversary it’s not because their close to me or I care that they like, me or not, it will be because maybe I have a goal and they’re standing in the way of it somehow.” – Damola Adamolekun

Adamolekun made international headlines as the young CEO who led Red Lobster out of bankruptcy.

His historical achievement leading to several awards including being named Fortune 100 most powerful people.

He told me he credits his success to his ability to not take things personally and the faith he’s built in hisself.

“If you take the effort to do well in the small things in life to excel well in everything you do for example then you’ll natural become more confident because you’ll see yourself succeed.” – Damola Adamolekun

And for those struggling to maintain their sense of confidence, Adamolekun gave this advice.

“It’s important to recognize you’re their for a reason somebody believed in you if you’re in the room you have some ability, and the best thing you can do is to recognize it’s a thought you’re having and dismiss it and get to work” – Damola Adamolekun
