UNITED STATES – Fresh off a major win, President Donald Trump is now rallying voters to support his $4.5 trillion tax and spending bill, calling it a “promise kept” during a fourth of July rally in Iowa.

The bill which makes his 2017 tax cuts permanent and expands defense and immigration spending, passed Thursday after weeks of tense negotiations.

But Democrats are slamming it as cruel, pointing to congressional budget office projections that say nearly 12 million Americans could lose health insurance.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries called the bill “an assault on everyday Americans”, while Republicans argue it delivers on campaign promises.
