EXUMA, BAHAMAS – As road works continue on Exuma, Local Government Chief Councilor Kendall Mcphee says the tone of residents has changed.

He said early on, there were numerous complaints due to the disruption caused by the ongoing works, but that’s no longer the case.

The upgrades are the result of a public-private partnership between the government and The Bahamas Striping Group of Companies.

The goal is to redo over 50 miles of road on Exuma.

There’s also the construction of bleachers, bathrooms, and a new track for the local high school.

Family Island Administrator Christian Palacious says the project means a lot to the island.
