NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Member of Parliament for North Andros and the Berry Islands Leonardo Lightbourne telling reporters outside of the House of Assembly that government should find ways to assist Bahamians in attaining affordable home insurance.

Our News took to the streets to find out how residents feel about the issue.

This resident says government meeting people where they are financially is the first step in encouraging homeowners to be insured.

With residents dealing with high costs of living, everyday living has become difficult with some saying it’s simply a headache to pay for home insurance.
