NASSAU, BAHAMAS – You’ve heard a lot of talk from the ‘A’ groups but the ‘B’ groups are also hard at work ahead of the return to Bay.

The Body of Christ Crusaders – a group of some 100 young people say they’re bringing something unique and different this time around.

Since 2004 the Body of Christ Crusaders has been hitting Bay Street in the ‘B’ category.

Not only are they looking to be the top ‘B’ group, but coordinator Kimsley Ferguson says it’s also ministry.

The group is made up of about 100 members this time around and in late November, Ferguson said there were still young people looking to join the group.

This year, the community-based group is in full preparation mode as to what they will bring to Bay Street come Boxing Day.

The musicians are made up mostly of young people from a community marching band.

The group will bring more gospel songs with a mix of Bahamian music among other genres.

Herbert Ferguson writes the music for the group and is also one of the costume designers.

Anniyo Rolle is a trumpet player in The Body of Christ Crusaders but he’s also instrumental in building costumes.

While they are ready for a return from the two-year hiatus there are some challenges.

Despite the setbacks, the energy is high.
