NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Weddings and romance are at the heart of the Bahamas’ tourism industry, luring couples from around the world to exchange their vows in a tropical paradise.

Sandals Royal Bahamian is leading the charge as one of the country’s premier wedding destinations. There, guests aren’t just looking for an exhilarating adventure, they are coming to create memories of a lifetime and make the ultimate commitment by tying the knot.

Recently unveiling its stunning, one of a kind, over-water chapel, Sandals Royal Bahamian is raising the bar for destination weddings.

This charming venue offers couples an unparalleled setting, perfect for celebrating the unique connection they share, over tranquil turquoise waters with an open air ambience.

“At Sandals, romance is a key part of our mission,” said Kevin Clarke, general manager at Sandals Royal Bahamian. “Our resorts are carefully designed for two people in love and our goal is simple- to create unforgettable moments for all our guests. With the addition of this new chapel, we’re expanding our collection of breathtaking venues, which already includes our lush gardens, private offshore island and elegant gazebos, each one offering its own unique charm,” he shared.

Though the chapel was only recently completed, it didn’t take long for couples to fall in love with its idyllic beauty.

The very first couple to exchange vows in this remarkable space were the Whites from Washington, D.C. After six years of togetherness, they knew the Bahamas was the ideal place for the nuptials.

“We saw the over water chapel on the website and we loved it. My travel agent was keeping tabs on it and we were told that it wouldn’t be finished in time. When we got here and saw it, we were like, ‘that looks finished to me’,” the groom, Anthony White shared.

But the couple had initially booked the offshore island for their big day and upon realizing they may be able to utilize the chapel and become the first couple to do so at that, they immediately secured the location.

“We went over to look at it and once we saw the inside we knew there was no other choice. It was breathtakingly beautiful,” shared Mrs. White.

The couple made a once-in-a-lifetime commitment, surrounded by the serene beauty of the ocean, as their loved ones looked on. In that moment, it was as clear as the chapel’s glass aisle beneath their feet that there’s no more magical way to say, “I do” than this.
