NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS – It was an event scores of revelers anticipated during Bahamas Carnival weekend, Sauchis ‘N’ grits.

Held at the Bahamas Mortgage Corporation Grounds, the day fete featured a line up of bahamian talent, along with appearances by World DJ Champion DJ Puffy and Klassik Frescobar.

The all inclusive experience attracted both local and international attendees and featured a brunch menu alongside unlimited beverage options.

Now in its third year, many have come to view Sauchis ‘N’ Grits as a mainstay of the local carnival calendar.

Event promoter Giovanni Munroe says the goal has always been to create a premier soiree during the carnival season while showcasing Bahamian talent and culture.

“We trying to revolutionize the way we do things here in The Bahamas. Especially for young professionals and just professionals in general.” – Giovanni Munroe

Founder of The Soiree, Theo Cooper, agrees.

“We needed an event for The Bahamas that sort of could relate to events that we had abroad in Trinidad and all the other places that we have Carnival and what we know better than Sauchis ‘N’ Grits right? That’s a staple in the Bahamian economy and so we wanted to give the people a Bahamian experience. Did you see it ever growing this big? I see this growing much bigger than this. We getting there, we just getting started.” – Theo Cooper
