Senator Trevor Johnson: “Our Generation Has to Hold and Carry Forward What Our Forefathers Did”

He’s the first Bahamian to achieve a PhD in Disaster Management, and has been a University of The Bahamas lecturer all before the age of 30.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Our country may be celebrating more than 5 decades of independence, but young Bahamians are stepping to the forefront leading the charge, like first time senator, Dr. Trevor Johnson.

He’s the first Bahamian to achieve a PhD in disaster management, and has been a University of The Bahamas lecturer all before the age of 30.

After recently being appointed as a opposition senator to serve for the next five years, Johnson tells us he doesn’t take it lightly, and he’s not the only young politician striving to make a difference.

Additionally, as he reflects on 53 years of independence, Johnson says balancing wisdom with new ideas is important.
