Spragga Benz Discusses Musical Career

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Jamaican artist Spragga Benz is renowned for his music, community work, and his performance in one of the most legendary Jamaican films.

He recently traveled to New Providence to perform at Saturday night’s much-anticipated summer event, One Blood 29.

Spragga Benz – “Well old school, new school, it don’t really matter to me, just that it’s a party and it’s here in The Bahamas.“

Spragga made his musical debut in the early 1990s and is widely recognized for his popular tracks such as A1 Lover, She Nuh Ready Yet, and Oh Yeah featuring Foxy Brown, among others.

He revealed to me that he has become more deliberate with his lyrics, affirming that his new songs reflect a man who has matured both personally and professionally.

With an impressive 30+ years of experience in the entertainment industry, Spragga has also founded the Stay In School Program, now recognized as the Carlyle Foundation.

The evolution of the program came in the wake of the tragic police-involved shooting of his 17-year-old son, and is dedication to assisting local youth.

This commitment has solidified his reputation among fans as more than just an artist.
