ST. KITTS & NEVIS – St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Terrance Drew reaffirming his government’s cautious and measured approach to cannabis reform, stressing that any integration of cannabis into society must be handled responsibly to protect the country’s economy, public health and social stability.

He said while his government has taken historic steps to recognise the rights of the Rastafari community and reform outdated laws, it remains mindful of potential risks if the industry is not properly managed.

He also cautioned against actions that could undermine the country’s financial stability, particularly regarding international banking relationships.

He further addressed medicinal cannabis, stating that while there is potential for therapeutic use, strict regulation is necessary to ensure product safety and quality.
