FREEPORT, GRAND BAHAMA – A STEM program teaching high school students programming and coding, is shifting the focus on Grand Bahama. The iniviative is part of the Revitalization and Expansion of the Economy of Freeport Committee, better known as REEF.



Founder and CEO of Stemboard and Lingo, Aisha Bowe, says as a child of a Bahamian and former NASA aerospace engineer, she is pleased to partner with the GBPA in facilitating the new program.

Lingo is a self paced, hands on coding kit that enables to build at home.

Key partners in the initiative, BTVI and Aliv will help to make the program a success.

Vice President of Academic Affairs at BTVI. Linda Davis and General Manager of Consumer Sales at Aliv, Dominic Petty say technology, innovation, and stem are the way of the future.

The SEED program is in its pilot phase and will begin with 50 students at Bishop Michael Eldon High School and Sunland Baptist Academy.
