Suspect Charged after Teen Murdered and Robbed of Motorcycle
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man is facing charges in relation to the murder and armed robbery of a motorcyclist last year.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man is facing charges in relation to the murder and armed robbery of a motorcyclist last year.
Thomas Johnson, 21, is accused of being an accessory after the fact to Jamsly Richemond’s murder and armed robbery.
Prosecutors allege that robbers deliberately knocked 19-year-old Richemond off of his XTZ-125 Yamaha Motorcycle at Robinson Road on June 24, 2024 and took his bike. Richemond died as a result.
Police had initially treated the matter as a hit-and-run.
Johnson was not required to enter pleas to the charges when he stood before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.
Johnson was denied bail, and he’s back in court on May 29 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
