Suspended Corrections Officer Facing Second Murder Conspiracy Charge

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A suspended corrections officer accused of setting up a man to be killed outside her home is facing a second murder conspiracy charge.

Prosecutors say Shante Taylor and an unnamed accomplice conspired to murder Chief Principal Officer Charles Curtis, her superior at the prison, on July 30, 2024.

Taylor, who’s on bail, denied the charges at her arraignment before Justice Guillimina Archer-Minns on Friday.

The case has been assigned to Justice Renae McKay, who will set a trial date on November 27.

Meanwhile, Taylor is also facing trial for the alleged set up murder of Elvardo Thompson.

He was ambushed and killed by gunmen outside of Taylor’s home in Pincrest Gardens on July 20, 2024.
