NASSAU, BAHAMAS – World Oceans Day is June 8th, and local environmentalists are already working on their plans.

Marine biologist and founder of Earthcare, Gail Woon has a series of environmental projects underway in preparation for World Oceans Day on June 8th, but she says even if you’re not an environmentalist, you can still make a difference for the oceans.

A big step you can take, is to be mindful of the amount of driving you do, as the emissions we create on land, greatly impact our ocean.

This can lead to shellfish like conch, clams, oysters and lobsters shells becoming thinner and risking their longterm wellbeing.

So, aside from reducing your driving and greenhouse emissions, what can you do? She says to be mindful of everything you do throughout the day, as it may all have an impact on the world and the ocean.
