NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Nestled in the rolling Lyford Hills, just outside of the Island House, is a gem artists and art lovers can appreciate.

Since 2020, the Tern Gallery – founded by Lauren Perez and Amanda Coulson – has carried out its core mission of representing artists from The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean and pushing them to the global audience.

Jodi Minnis, Tern gallery’s exhibitions and programming director, explains the team’s motivation.

The gallery has made its mark internationally, participating in nine art fairs from Miami to New York and facilitating international exhibitions.

And with the new school year just getting underway, Minnis says the gallery’s mission extends into the school system as they look to empower the next generation of creatives.

The gallery has several shows slated for the near future, and its walls always feature contemporary art – a  shift from the usual pace.
