TCI: Over 100 Irregular Migrants Intercepted

TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS – One hundred fifteen migrants were intercepted in the Turks and Caicos Islands Monday and are now being held at the detention centre there.

The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands police say the illegal vessel carrying the migrants was detected and intercepted by officers of the marine branch near northwest point.

Police says there have been 27 interceptions so far this year with almost 3500 migrants captured.
