TCI: Over 200 Illegal Migrants Intercepted at Sea
TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS – Marine branch officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force intercepts 244 illegal migrants.
TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS – Marine branch officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force stopped 244 illegal migrants in a vessel heading towards the western shores of Providenciales around 4:30AM.
According to a report, the officers intercepted a 45ft wooden vessel, powered by twin outboard engines transporting the illegal Haitian migrants.
The vessel was carrying 49 females and 191 males including two minors. The migrants have since been handed over to the immigration task force for processing.
