Team Bahamas Eliminated In Pony 12-U Regional Semifinal

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – They came in as underdogs, and the run for Team  Bahamas came up just short at the Pony Baseball 12-U Caribbean and Latin American Zone Championships in San Christobal, the Dominican Republic.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – The Bahamas under 12 national team is in the Dominican republic taking on the regions best.

They came in as underdogs, and the run for Team  Bahamas came up just short at the Pony Baseball 12u Caribbean and Latin American Zone Championships in San Christobal, the Dominican Republic.

The team finished with a 3-1 record in group play and were eliminated in the semis Tuesday by the Dominican Republic host team.

Josiah Filterman doubled off the wall but in the top of the first inning but offense was hard to come by for Team Bahamas.

In group play, they began the tournament with a dominant 21-0 win over el Salvador.

Gianno Newball, Isaac Richardson, and Bossfield Butler each drove in three runs.

Game two was a hard fought 7-6 loss to the Dominican Republic championship team that wasn’t decided until the bottom of the seventh inning. 

In game three, the team got back on track with a 9-4 win over Panama. 

Waiden Bain Jr hit two home runs and finished 3-3 with four RBI.

Carmelo Wallace dominated on the mound and pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts

It took a three hour rain delay, changing the location of the field, but The Bahamas advanced to the semifinal with a 10-4 win over Ecuador.

Josiah Filterman was 2-2 with three rbi, and Xavier Petit had seven strikeouts in the win.

Basketball

Tavario Miller Sr is in playoff mode and his team is looking to make noise in Argentina.

After finishing the season as the 4th  seed, Miller Sr and his team Quimsa are one win away from making the semi finals in La Liga National in Argentina.  

In game 1 Miller Sr had a stand out performance. In 32 minutes of action, he had a 13 point, 11 rebound double double in a 78 – 67 win over Orbras.

Game 2 was a wire to wire win for Quimsa were Miller Sr scored 11 points while grabbing six rebounds in a 88 – 65 win.

The series turns to game 3, where they head to Buenos Aries with a chance to end the series Wednesday night.
