“Team Up To Clean Up” Campaign

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – “Team up to clean up,” that’s the message one Bahamian woman is pushing this summer and she’s encouraging other Bahamians to show their national pride by joining the effort

Throughout the month of June, Bahamians will team up to clean up the streets of New Providence.

The initiative is the brainchild of Cheryl Cambridge, CEO of Cheryl Bahamas Taxi and Tours.

She says working in the tourism industry, visitors often complain about the appearance of the city.

Its’ one of the reasons she decided to launch the clean up campaign ahead of the 50th independence celebrations.

Cambridge says she’s participated in clean up efforts before and in no time the area is dirty again and although it can be disappointing to see, she says it will not deter her goal of keeping The Bahamas Clean.

She’s encouraging Bahamians to display cleanliness year-round.

Now local businesses like John Watlings Distillery are also supporting the team up to clean up campaign.

Managing partner at the distillery, Pepin Argamasilla says the goal is to ensure that when tourists visit our shores, they leave with a positive lasting impression.
