NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association is looking to get back to the business of tennis, with the interim board targeting greater activity across all levels of the sport.

A major priority is revamping the junior program, creating more opportunities for young players to compete both locally and abroad.

At the senior level, Bahamian players from the professional and collegiate ranks continue to make strides internationally.

Locally, the BLTA also wants to host more tournaments, giving players more opportunities to compete at home while earning valuable UTR points.

The goal is simple: more tennis, more competition and more opportunities for Bahamian players.

Bodybuilding

Bahamian bodybuilder Charleston Cornish is making his mark on the professional bodybuilding scene in the United States, following consecutive fourth-place finishes on the circuit.

Cornish placed fourth out of 21 competitors in the Men’s 212 division at the Tampa Pro, before repeating that result among 19 competitors at the Lenda Murray Atlanta Pro Supershow in Atlanta.

The 35-year-old Abaco native entered the professional ranks in 2024 after starting his bodybuilding journey in 2021.

Cornish once weighed as much as 266 pounds, but transformed his physique and eventually moved from Men’s Physique into bodybuilding.

Now, his goal is to qualify for the Mr. Olympia, and he’ll get another opportunity this weekend at the Texas Pro and NPC Texas Classic in Irving.
