SEATTLE, U.S.A. – In the tourism business timing is everything and what better time to introduce international travel partners to The Bahamas than 48 hours ahead of another inaugural flight – this one from Seattle to Nassau.

Wednesday night, a room full of agents and partners, from the American Society of Travel Advisors met in their annual trade show to learn about the hottest and newest destinations.

Up to 44 suppliers participated. The buzz in the room, over the Alaskan air non-stop service launching from Seattle to LPIA in Nassau.

Chapter President Wendy Denny believes the new route will prove popular amongst locals and neighboring states.

Her words were echoed by the Ministry of Tourism. Territory General Manager Dupree Smith says so far the response has been beyond belief.

But don’t just take their word for it, during the show travel agents got to see The Bahamas’ desk.

Also present on the tourism desk, Warwick Paradise Island.

With the weekly Alaska Airlines flights set to kick off, Seattle is the tip of the ice stop.
