GRAND BAHAMA – President of the Grand Bahama Humane Society, Tiffany Dennison, says another important goal of theirs is to teach responsible pet ownership.

Something that helps keep pets safe, healthy, and off of the streets. She says they try to spread this as early as possible, often hosting summer camps and conducting school visits.

Dennison says the children are always very engaged and ask a lot of questions. – something she says is a good thing as they work to make a difference.

Now, she admits that’s they’ve seen a 50% increase in pet surrenders in recent months, part of the reason they want to push the message of responsible pet ownership.

With operation expenses estimated at $900,000 a year, Dennison is appealing to the public for assistance. Whether at the local office, their second hand shop on east mall drive or online, she is also suggests signing up membership.
