NASSAU, BAHAMAS – High-level tennis competition took center stage at the Nassau Tennis Cup, an event bringing together local and expatriate players in a spirited team-based tournament.

Organizers say the event is designed to promote camaraderie and competitive play, while strengthening the tennis community across The Bahamas.

Participants praised the tournament atmosphere, describing it as competitive, energetic, and built on strong sportsmanship.

FLAG FOOTBALL & BASKETBALL ROUNDUP

The Bahamas National Teams delivered strong performances at the World Flag Football Cup in Tampa.

The Under-9 team recorded back-to-back wins, defeating the Winter Garden Bengals 28–0 and Silverbacks FFC 24–18.

The Under-16 squad was equally dominant, beating Montreal 20–7 and Triple Threat out of Texas 27–16.

The Under-12 team faced tougher competition, falling to the Lightning Legends and Metro Tigers. The tournament wrapped up earlier today.

In the NBA, Klay Thompson led the Dallas Mavericks to a 138–120 win over the Utah Jazz, scoring 23 points and connecting on six three-pointers.

Buddy Hield also contributed off the bench, scoring 14 points in the Golden State Warriors’ 136–116 win over the Charlotte Hornets.

At the collegiate level, Conference USA’s leading scorer and rebounder, Rhema Collins, posted 22 points and 16 rebounds as Florida International University defeated UTEP 67–59. Fellow Bahamian Denika Lightbourne added 11 points off the bench.

Meanwhile, Fred King powered Murray State to its 12th straight victory, finishing with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocks in an 85–81 win over Indiana State.
