NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prosecutors say children are responsible for the thefts of souvenirs from stalls at the Fort Charlotte Straw Market this month.

Three boys, two of them 12, the other 11, stood before Juvenile Court Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr along with their guardians.

The older boys face charges of stealing and receiving, while the 11-year-old is accused of receiving.

The 12-year-olds are accused of stealing goods valued at $2,250 from a stall on December 5 and receiving the items.

They allegedly returned on December 17 and made off with $390 in souvenirs.

The preteens admitted to the theft last week but denied raiding the stall on December 5, and the younger boy denied the receiving allegations.

They were granted bail and have to keep a curfew from 5pm to 7am.

All of the matters were adjourned to February 16.
