Three Men Sentenced to Four Years for 2022 Abaco Drug Bust

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Three men who were caught with more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana have been sentenced.

Magistrate Samuel McKinney handed down a four year prison sentence to Chaino Cornish Sr, his son Chaino Cornish Jr, and Raphael Murray after convicting them of drug possession with intent to supply.

The men were fined $25,000. They’ll spend an additional six months behind bars if the fine isn’t paid.

On April 17, 2022, law enforcement officers arrested the men after they found 26 crocus sacks containing 1,254 pounds of marijuana when they raided a home in Cooper’s Town, Abaco.
