NASSAU, BAHAMAS – On this day in 2012, Progressive Liberal Party and Free National Movement supporters had a showdown in the straw market.

This came after a press conference by PLP leaders, who toured the facility after some vendors complained about structural problems, inoperable restrooms and stall assignments.


On this day in 2020, then Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis made his first national address on the novel coronavirus which would weeks later lead to a nationwide lockdown.


One year later on this day in 2021, days after the first batch of vaccines with 20,000 doses, the first jab was given to Nurse Ruth Bastian.
