Tour Company Wins Big at International Awards

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Several Bahamian companies winning big at the 2022 World Travel Awards, including a tour operator that helped to make The Swimming Pigs of Exuma a bucket list attraction for many visitors.

Exuma Escapes began with the vision to do something different for visitors the country – something they would remember for the rest of their lives.

Dario McKinney is Island Escapes’ Bahamas Director of global sales and strategic partnerships. He says the company began with group trips on a 28-foot speed boat.

The captains found themselves bridging the gap for visitors who flew into Nassau, but wanted to experience the world famous swimming pigs and Exuma Escapes was born.

McKinney says he recalls some tour agents laughing when they saw the Exuma Escapes flyers, saying, nobody wanted to swim with, “nasty pigs”.

Now the company has been recognized as The Bahamas leading tour operator 2022 – something McKinney says they are humbled and forever grateful for being selected for the award.

Among other winners at the 2022 awards was the National flag carrier – Bahamasair – which won the 2022 award for the Caribbean’s leading airline.

Atlantis, Paradise Island won for the Caribbean’s leading casino resort 2022.

Baha Mar’s Baha Bay won for Caribbean’s leading water park 2022.
