NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A fishing trip nearly ended in tragedy for an American tourist after he was bitten by a baby shark in waters near Sandy Cay, off Grand Bahama. In light of the situation, a local tour guide in West End is speaking out on some of the concerns and issues in that area.

Owner of West End Ecology Tours Keith Cooper says on Sandy Cay where he conducts tours he’s witnessed several situations where boaters have not been following the law.

And, he believes some boaters often provoke the sharks which can cause a bigger problem.

Cooper says he’s reported the matter to the authorities.
