NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The official renaming ceremony of the New Providence Primary School Soccer Tournament was held on Monday.

The tournament will now be called the Dawn Knowles Primary Soccer Tournament. 

Education Minister Glenys Hanna-Martin was excited about the change.

Bahamas Football Association President Anya James welcomed the name change as well.

Dawn Knowles shared her feelings about the honor.

College Baseball

College baseball player Owen Taylor has been mashing all year for the University of Toronto Varsity Blues baseball team. 

The star outfielder hit .413 and led the team with 15 rbi on the season, helping his team to a 17-2 record. 

He came up on time in Sunday’s championship game, driving in a run to help the Blues rally from a 4-1 hole and get to extra innings, 

It was there where he came in from the outfield to get the save, striking out two hitters to lock the title up for the Blues. 

For his clutch hitting, and pitching, he was named one of Ontario University Athletics’ Athletes of the Week.
