NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The trial of former Red Cross boss Sean Brennen has been delayed so the prosecution can give his lawyer the evidence against him.

Prosecutors say Brennen abused his officer as the charity’s Director General by keeping Super Value gift certificates, intended for the needy, for himself.

Brennen is accused of stealing gift certificates valued at $8,815 from April 2021 to November 2021.

Brennen, who was charged with stealing by reason of employment last October, appeared before Magistrate Kendra Kelly today for the start of his trial.

However, the matter could not proceed because Brennen’s lawyer had not received disclosure of the evidence.

The matter is now set for March.
