UNITED STATES – U.S. President Donald Trump signed a memo Thursday calling for customized tariffs on foreign trading partners, matching the duties they impose on U.S. products.

A senior official explained that this means the U.S. will tailor tariffs based on each country’s trading profile.

Trump’s move follows his earlier announcements on tariffs for China, Mexico, and Canada., with china already facing a 10% tariff.

In addition, 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum are set to kick in next month, however, many economists warn these tariffs could drive up consumer prices, driving up inflation.
