UNITED STATES – Sweeping new U.S. Tariffs targeting more than 90 countries have officially taken effect.

With President Donald Trump claiming billions are now flowing into the U.S. economy.

Announcing the move on Truth Social, Trump said the tariffs are aimed at boosting american manufacturing and jobs. While warning that countries like India and Switzerland could face steep penalties if they don’t align with U.S. trade goals.

Some of the harshest tariffs hit Asian nations with ties to China, but major allies like Japan and the EU have reached partial deals to soften the blow.

The average U.S. Tariff rate is now at its highest in nearly a century.
