NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two men are facing a murder charge in connection with the shooting of Andre Kikivarakis in South Abaco.

Billy Antoine and Theophilus Lloyd, who are both 35, did not have to enter a plea to the charge when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt on Monday.

Shortly after 11:00pm, officers from the Sandy Point Police Station went to Cross Rocks to investigate reports of gunshots.

When they arrived, they found Kikivarakis dead behind a business with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.

In court, both accused killers said they were afraid for their lives and asked to be put in protective custody at the prison.

Lloyd said that he was in New Providence when the murder happened, but police still charged him although he provided video to prove his location.

Antoine disputed police claims that the pair acted together by saying he did not know Lloyd.

Ferguson-Pratt made note of both men’s concerns and remanded them to the Bahamas Department of Corrections.

Their next court date is December 8.
