UNITED KINGDOM – Some popular jolly ranchers candies have been flagged as unsafe to eat in the U.K., with health officials warning they contain chemicals that could damage DNA and raise cancer risk over time.

The UK’s food standards agency says certain products from the U.S.-made brand, like jolly rancher hard candy and gummies, contain mineral oils banned under UK law.

While the immediate risk is low, people are being urged not to eat them and toss them out.

Meanwhile, businesses still stocking them are being told to pull them off shelves right away.
