UNITED STATES – American Airlines has placed several employees on leave following an incident where black passengers were removed from a flight due to a complaint about body odor.

Three passengers have filed a lawsuit alleging racial discrimination in the January 5 incident.

CEO Robert Isom acknowledged the incident as unacceptable and expressed disappointment in a note to employees.

The airline stated it is holding those involved accountable and implementing initiatives to prevent such occurrences, including an advisory group focused on black passenger experiences.
