UNITED STATES – President Trump is hitting pause on 25% tariffs against Mexico for a month, following a phone call with President Claudia Sheinbaum.

Mexico agreed to deploy 10,000 national guard troops to its northern border to curb fentanyl smuggling, while the U.S. pledges to crack down on gun exports fueling cartel violence.

Sheinbaum tweeted the breakthrough, calling it a “good conversation with great respect.”

Trump praised the “friendly” talks, though he hasn’t ruled out imposing tariffs if the deal falters.
