UNITED STATES – A baby boy in Ohio has reportedly set a new world record after being born from an embryo frozen for more than 30 years, according to MIT Technology Review.

The couple welcomed Thaddeus Daniel Pierce on Saturday.

Thirty-five-year-old Lindsey and her husband, Tim Pierce, told MIT they tried for seven years before adopting the embryo, originally created in 1994 by Linda Archerd and her then-husband.

Rejoice Fertility Clinic in Tennessee performed the transfer, and MIT reports Archerd chose the Pierces through a Christian embryo adoption agency, wanting to stay connected to the child, who is biologically related to her daughter.
