U.S. Coast Guard Offloads $20.1M Worth Of Illicit Drugs

MIAMI, FLORIDA – The United States coast guard says it offloaded more than $20 million worth of cocaine and marijuana in Miami on Wednesday following multiple drug busts in the Caribbean Sea.

MIAMI, FLORIDA – The United States coast guard says it offloaded more than $20 million worth of cocaine and marijuana in Miami on Wednesday following multiple drug busts in the Caribbean Sea.

According to a statement from the coast guard, the seizures totaled over 2,200 pounds of cocaine and 3,300 pounds of marijuana.

The operations involved international partners, including crews from Canada and the Netherlands.

Commander Brian Gismervik of Cutter Northland called it a “team effort” to stop drugs from reaching U.S. shores.

The busts were coordinated by the joint interagency task force-south, based in Key West, Florida.
