NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The United States Embassy in Nassau will close to the public on Tuesday, August 26th at its present location and reopen at the new embassy compound at 235 Shirley Street on Tuesday, September 2.

The move, which comes after fifty-two years at the Queen Street location, will strengthen the United States presence in The Bahamas.

A significant investment in the bilateral relationship, the $225 million new embassy compound will facilitate increased cooperation in law enforcement, economic development, maritime safety, education, cultural exchange and more. The new location, closer to the Nassau cruise port, will provide better access for Americans in need of consular services whether they are visiting The Bahamas or reside here.

American citizens in need of emergency services during the closure should visit bs.usembassy.gov or contact the American Citizen Services office at acsnassau@state.gov or 1-242-322-1181.  The general public is encouraged to follow us @USEmbassyNassau on Facebook, X and Instagram for updates regarding the relocation.
