NASSAU, BAHAMAS – U.S Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to The Bahamas next month for a high-level meeting with Caribbean leaders.

It’s the first time Harris, who has Jamaican roots, will visit the Caribbean since taking office in 2021.

The trip also coincidences with Caribbean-American heritage month, which celebrates the longstanding people-to-people ties between the Caribbean and the United States.

The White House said the June 8 meeting, which will be co-hosted by Prime Minister and CARICOM Chairman Philip Davis, builds on the vice president’s previous meetings with Caribbean leaders held last year.
