DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO – Disturbing news from the Democratic Republic of Congo, as a leaked UN report says over a hundred female prisoners were raped and then burned alive at a prison in Goma during a mass jailbreak last Monday.

The inmates allegedly escaped as M23 rebels, reportedly backed by Rwanda, took over the city.

The DRC says more than 2,000 have been killed since fighting erupted, while the un puts that number closer to 900.

A ceasefire was recently announced, although new clashes are already being reported.
