NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 38-year-old man is behind bars after being accused of incest.

Prosecutors allege that the New Providence resident had sexual relations with his 11-year-old niece on January 30.

The man’s name has been withheld to protect the alleged victim’s identity.

The accused was not required to enter a plea to the charge when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans.

He is due in court on May 17.
