USA – The man accused of killing UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson is now facing a new charge: murder as an act of terrorism.

Prosecutors say Luigi Mangione’s alleged actions were meant to intimidate and grab attention.

The 50-year-old was shot and killed in Manhattan earlier this month, just as he was walking to an investor conference. After a days-long manhunt, Mangione was arrested at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania, carrying the gun, fake ids, and a passport.

Authorities believe Mangione was driven by anger at the U.S. Health care system. He’s due in a Pennsylvania court Thursday, where prosecutors are pushing to extradite him to New York.
