NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Officials from the Union of Tertiary Educators of The Bahamas hoping to sign the first industrial agreement with The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute soon.

Negotiations between UTEB and BTVI began back in September 2022, and union officials are hoping they can put ink to paper sooner rather than later.

UTEB President, Daniel Thompson says they’ve recently met with the board of directors at BTVI regarding their industrial agreement, specifically the renumeration package for their members, but they have reached an impasse.

Thompson says their hope is to change the current salary structure for BTVI workers.

Lead negotiator for the industrial agreement between UTEB and BTVI, Karima Smith is hoping for a speedy resolution to their issues.
