NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS – The New Providence International Wine & Food Festival is serving up more than just incredible bites and drinks, it’s also giving local vendors the spotlight to show off their creativity and flavors in a big way.

For some returning vendors, this year is about stepping it up.

We caught up with a few of them to find out when attendees can expect when it comes to their delicious creations.

“This year im doing two nights, ill be doing tacos and tequila on Thursday night and then um Jerk Jam on Saturday night” – Darren Sinclair, Owner of Flipping Good Burgers

“Im actually stepping out of my comfort zone and yank exploring my culinary range on doing two nights on taco tequila night ill be doing conch tacos (and what about) and then at jerk jam ill be exploring seafood some more with some jerk tapas some small bites featuring jerk shrimp” – Darren Sinclair, Owner of Flipping Good Burgers

Sinclair says events like this aren’t just about great food. They’re also about opportunity, especially for small local businesses looking to get their name out there.

“Definitely like I said this is my third year you definitely wanna come out and support its a great event and a its a launch pad for small businesses like myself so I definitely want to encourage everybody to come out and support” – Darren Sinclair, Owner of Flipping Good Burgers

Also returning for a third year and ready to take on two nights of culinary action are sisters Asline and Gabriella Blanc.

The pair say the energy of the festival and the chance to share their culture through food is what keeps them coming back.

“It an amazing incredible opportunity to network and collaborate with other local chefs yang it provides an international platform to showcase what we have to offer and I think that its an opportunity to showcase or allow the international chefs to experience our Caribbean or authentic Caribbean flavors especially if theyve never had it before” Asline and Gabriella Blanc

“First time we did the Jerk Jam right that was our first experience we did the Jerk Jam and then the second was Tacos an Tequila last year this year we’re gonna be participating in 2 of the different events” – Asline and Gabriella Blanc

And if you’re wondering what they’ll be serving up, they gave us a little sneak peek, promising bold, authentic flavors you won’t want to miss.

“For tacos and tequila we are going to be offering an island style samosa” – Asline and Gabriella Blanc

“We’re doing something um a little bit different this year um its ah ah a blend of Haitian cuisine mixed with a little Japanese so we’re gonna be doing a creole unagari” – Asline and Gabriella Blanc

“You don’t want to miss it because this year is even better than what we would’ve experienced last year so if you did miss it last year you don’t want to miss it this year” – Asline and Gabriella Blanc

So if you haven’t grabbed your tickets just yet, run, not walk, because these vendors are ready to bring the heat.
