UNITED STATES – New data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) shows 1 in 3 teens ages 12 to 17, or 8.4 million young people, had prediabetes in 2023.

The condition raises the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.

Officials call it a “wake-up call,” urging families to promote healthier eating and more physical activity.
