GRAND BAHAMA – Women on Grand Bahama recently gathered for a women’s empowerment conference under the theme, Walking Into Your Purpose.

The event bears the name of the book penned by author, speaker and empowerment coach April Holt-Smith.

This is the second year the international host has brought the event to the island, and she shared what makes the conference so special.

The panelists included an array of women, both local and international, from various backgrounds and professions.

Panelists say the goal is to share their journeys and offer advice to attendees on how they can forge ahead in their respective careers.

Attendee La’Verne Gardiner is also the founder of an empowerment and resource center for women on the island.

She says it was important for her to be in the room, as it shows women that there are intentionally created safe spaces designed to support and uplift them.

And if you missed this event, Gardiner offers a safe space for women on the island on a monthly basis.
