NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Cancer Society of The Bahamas focusing on brain cancer awareness for the month of June. A part of their push is raising awareness.
At one of those events, consultant neurosurgeon and spine surgeon, Dr. Nicholas Burrowes, broke down the types of brain cancers, causes, symptoms and treatments.
Dr. Burrowes also provided statistics about the most common type of brain cancer, gliomas.
Dr. Burrowes says there’s no real direct cause that has been identified at this time, but there are factors that increase your risk.
