BIMINI, BAHAMAS – In less than 24 hours until voters will mark their ‘X’ for their next member of parliament.

Party officials from the two major political camps in Bimini say they’re confident of a win.

According to Free National Movement Chairman Dr. Duane Sands, the win for the FNM will be a wake-up call for the government.

He says the PLP is trying to swing the electorate.

Renovations to the clinic and an agreement for a new airport are just some new initiatives done in recent weeks.

Over in the PLP camp,  Senator Randy Rolle defended recent improvements and initiatives in Bimini saying they were in the works before former MP Obie Wilchcombe’s passing.

Meanwhile, the Free National Movement is accusing the PLP of buying votes.

In a local daily, PLP Chairman Fred Mitchell told the FNM leader to take the claims to the police or retract them.

But what are residents saying about the upcoming by-election.
