NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 24-year-old woman has been acquitted of a murder that took place in 2017.

Prosecutors alleged that Victoria Gibson was responsible for the March 31, 2017 stabbing death of Terenova Stubbs at Potter’s Cay Dock.

However, the prosecution’s case against Gibson collapsed after an alleged eyewitness to the fatal stabbing claimed that police officers forced her to implicate the accused.

Justice Gregory Hilton ruled that Gibson did not have a case to answer at the close of the prosecution’s case and directed the jury to acquit.
